Equipment Test
We all tried on our packs to make sure they still fit. At first Beau wasn't so sure but once he realized that were dog treats in it for him he was ready to go. So now we are starting to make lists so we won't forget anything. Does anyone want to bet if we do or not, forget anything that is?? Next week we will start to pack everything in the van and go over the list once more. Beau said as long as we don't forget the dog food he is ready to go. It must be nice to work from such a short list. Until the next post, keep on truckin.

The Begining
We are getting ready to start our hiking/camping adventure. We will be leaving in a couple of weeks to spend approximately 5 weeks in the Appalachian Trail area to do some hiking and some camping. We will be bringing Beau, our 11 year old Basset Hound with us so one of us may need to stay behind with him until he gets used to staying at the camp site by himself and knowing that we will be back for him. He sleeps a good part of the day so that should not be a problem. But we are not completely sure of this yet. We did a 2 day test camp at a local park and he was pretty good. He really did like it at the campsite when he was outside with us. But we really did not leave him for very long because there was limited shade and even in the Spring the Florida heat can become overwhelming very quickly. So we shall see how he does in the mountains. We will use this site to let family and friends know how we are doing. We will try to post something at least every couple of days so you will know we didn't get eaten by a bear. So that's it for now. Keep on truckin.
