I just dropped Jim off at Woody Gap. I will pick him up this afternoon at Neels Gap. It is about a 12 mike hike for him. Beau and I are going to hike around the lake here at the park today. We did part of it yesterday afternoon and it was great. Most of the other campers are leaving today so we should have most of the campground to ourselves. Unless of course some other people check in. But when we were at Amicalola we mostly had the park to ourselves until Friday. So we shall see what happens.
I have to say that the restroom facilities at both of these parks has been awesome. They are clean and have plenty of hot water. Kudos to Georgia State Park system so far. Very well maintained all around and well marked for where things are.
If we make it back to the Lodge this afternoon Jim can let you know how the hike was. If not I'll post again tomorrow. I don't like to leave Beau in van too long while I am in the Lodge. He is holding up pretty good but doesn't like to be alone too long.
We did see animals today. On the way to drop Jim off we saw a deer. It was in the trees near the road. On the way back I saw something by the road that was small and brown. I thought it was probably a bunny. When I got close it was a woodchuck up on it's hind legs. It was looking around and not intimidated by traffic at all. Very cute.
