Yesterday while chatting with the woman in the store at the campground about our computer woes, she mentions that her son is and IT person. Making a long story short he came down to the campground and fixed our problem in 15 minutes and only charged us $25. Now that was a little bit of good karma. There really are still some nice people in the world. So for now we have connectivity as long as we have wifi. We are not sure if our next stop has it or not. They were in the "process" of installing which we are not sure what that means since it shouldn't be too hard to set up a router. Anyway, we will know by this afternoon.
So we are off to Bryson City, North Carolina. We will be staying at Deep Creek Cabins. Yes, I said Cabins. The good news is I now know what the pitfalls are for sleeping in the van and I have a new plan to fix it.
The band was in full swing last night. They were actually pretty good. I only had 2 glasses of wine so it wasn't that either. It was a nice cool evening and it was 52 when we got up. A little chilly but after a cup of coffee and the sun came out it has warmed up nicely. At least I have my coffee maker with me and can have a nice fresh cup of coffee every morning. That makes things a whole lot better.
So we have about a 2 to 3 hour drive ahead of us. We will be leaving shortly. Jim will be back on the mountain again tomorrow. I think he has a shorter hike than the last one planned.
Here is a picture of Jim when he came down from the 16 mile hike. His sherpa had a cold beer waiting for him. He looks like he needed it too.
