It's a long hike today

So I dropped Jim off at 7:30 this morning. He is doing the stretch from Unicoi Gap to Hogpen Gap which is just under 14 miles. He estimates it will take him about 7 hours. So Beau and I are hanging out and doing laundry and other housekeeping items with the van. Then when we go pick Jim up we'll do a little more investigating in Hiawassee. It's another quaint little town. It is amazing how quickly I remember my way around in these hills. Although there aren't many roads so it is kind of hard to get lost. But if you miss a turn you could be going for a long way before you realize it. But that's what the GPS is for. I only had to use it once so far. Google maps have really been right on target for where we needed to go.

We are staying at Bald Mountain RV Park. It is really nice. The park has over 100 campsites and there are maybe 5 other campers here besides us right now. When we checked in they said they will be full by Saturday since it is Memorial Day weekend. So I guess we better enjoy the peacefulness of it now. Tomorrow the party is over.

Not much else going on. It was down in the 50's again last night so the mornings are still chilly. But now the sun is out and it is warming up fast. Beau is sitting in the sun warming his bones. I am too for that matter. We were both shivering at 6am this morning.

Will update later this afternoon after we extract Jim from the mountain. I am sure he will want to do his update.
